I am an Indian with 3yrs experience in BPO industry in the platform of SAP. I have completed MBA in HR through distance education. I would like to get a job in HR field as HR assistant/Admin assistant in Dubai. I couldn’t find a job till now as I don’t have any experience in the HR field. Do I need to do any extra courses or training to get this job? Please reply..

Hi Akila,
I hope you've heard about LinkedIn (linkedin.com). There is a group called "Dubai Human Resources Forum (DHRF)" and it's managed by a fellow of you (Indian). I am pretty sure he can give you better advice than me since he's working in HR in Dubai and it's an Indian. Please share your what made you decide to work in HR? Thank you! Mohi |

Hi Mohi,
Thanks for providing such a valuable & useful info. As far as my understanding, now most of the companies are using SAP as office tool for various HR operations. Since I have studied MBA in HR and also have 3yrs exp in SAP, I think both will add an advantage in my career development in HR field. At present salary is not a big issue for me, but I need some experience in the HR field. Please correct if I am wrong. Thank you. Last edited by Akila; 10-08-2009 at 06:51 PM.. |

It's true from what I heard also, SAP is used with the majority of the HR companies. Since you said the salary is not your top priority you might consider to try contacting some major HR agencies to request an internship. This way you will get some experience and if you are good but also lucky enough the HR company might decide to hire you but if they don't hire you at least got some experience to your CV/Resume and that should be more easy with your next employer.
Good luck! Mohi |
